RecommendationA great resort for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. There is a wide variety of slopes to choose from, including easy slopes for beginners, challenging slopes for experts, and everything in between. The resort is also very family-friendly, with a number of kids’ clubs and other activities for children of all ages.

Crans-Montana-Aminona is located about 15 kilometers from the city of Sierre and about 30 kilometers from the Sion airport. It is easily accessible by car, train, or bus.

Beginner:

  • Aminona: The top of the Aminona sector is ideal for beginners, with wide, gentle slopes and plenty of easy-access lifts.
  • Crans: The Boulevard is a good beginner slope in the Crans sector, with a gradual incline and stunning views of the Alps.
  • Montana: The Chemin des Dames in the Montana sector is another good beginner slope, with a variety of terrain to choose from.

Intermediate:

  • Aminona: The lower runs in Aminona has a mix of intermediate and advanced slopes, as well as a snow park.
  • Crans/Montana: The Bellalui in Crans/Montana is one of our favourite runs in the area.

Advanced:

  • By Air:
    • The nearest airport to Crans-Montana is Sion Airport (SIR), which is located about 15 kilometers from the resort. There are direct flights to Sion from a number of European cities, including London, Paris, and Amsterdam.
    • From Sion Airport, you can take a taxi or bus to Crans-Montana. The taxi journey takes about 20 minutes and costs around CHF 50. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around CHF 10.
  • By Train:
    • The nearest train station to Crans-Montana is Sierre train station. Sierre is located about 15 kilometers from the resort. There are direct trains to Sierre from a number of major Swiss cities, including Geneva, Zurich, and Basel.
    • From Sierre train station, you can take a taxi or bus to Crans-Montana. The taxi journey takes about 20 minutes and costs around CHF 50. The bus journey takes about 30 minutes and costs around CHF 10.
  • By Car:
    • Crans-Montana is located about 1.5 hours from Geneva and 2.5 hours from Zurich by car. The following are basic directions from these two cities:
      • From Geneva: Take the A9 motorway towards Lausanne. At Lausanne, take the A1 motorway towards Sion. At Sion, take the exit for Crans-Montana.
      • From Zurich: Take the A1 motorway towards Bern. At Bern, take the A12 motorway towards Lausanne. At Lausanne, take the A1 motorway towards Sion. At Sion, take the exit for Crans-Montana.
